Celtic Knotwork
Celtic Knotwork Image

Program used: Adobe Photoshop CS

Description:

I did this piece originally as a test just to see if it was possible to create Celtic art in Photoshop. In my Digital Stills Editing course in first year, one of the assignments I had to do was design a CD cover. I chose to make a cover for a celtic band and I wanted an image I could use as a background for the back of the CD case. So I thought I'd try and create a knotwork image. I started out by using the pen tool to roughly plot out the path I wanted. I then adjusted the curves and the angles until they were the way I wanted them. After that I filled in the outline and copied it into a new document. Finally I erased all the over and under lines and filled in the image with the green colour. I was a little bit surprised at how well it turned out.
