Description:

This was one of the final assignments for my Coding the Web class in first year. We had to get into small groups and create a fictional mini website that incorporated a web form, a database component and a picture gallery. My group chose to make a web site for a jazz club. One person created and layed out the main site design and created a couple of the content pages. The other person created the image gallery as well as a some of the other content pages. I put together the whole database component of the site and the last couple content pages. I made the database component function as the "event" section. It consisted of a public page that called all the event information from the database and displayed it on the page as well as a password protected admin section where I could add new events, edit current ones, as well as delete any that I no longer needed. I learned a ton about using ColdFusion from doing this assignment. It also made me more interested in the coding aspect of web development.
